John Kung

John Kung is a photographer based in Sydney. He was born in Hong Kong to Chinese parents who decided to move the whole family to Australia in 1986. He was educated in Sydney, eventually graduating from the University of Western Sydney in 2003 with a B.Design (VisComm) majoring in Graphic Design and Photography. In his spare time he runs his personal site, cooks, and likes to take pictures of his wife when she least expects it.

  - Behind the huge storm clouds lies Krakatoa, a volcano that self-destructed so spectacularly the noise was heard over a thousand kilometres away, and the effects of the ash thrown up into the sky changed weather patterns world wide for years afterwards. This was taken from the shore of southern Sumatra, just before my friend and I rode a small canoe with an outboard motor to Krakatoa.
